REAL RESULTS of my actions as your City Councillor for Roads Infrastructure Improvement:

FIVE major roadway projects are approved and now advancing — the result of my strong, consistent advocacy and collaboration with the City operating team and developers. https://www.facebook.com/JenniferRiceYEG/

✅ 1. 41 Ave Widening (Allard → west of QE2) I pushed for this long-needed fix. Council approved the second eastbound lane under Bylaw 21285, fully developer-funded to reduce congestion toward QE2 on 41 Ave SW.

✅ 2. 41 Ave Reconstruction (Chappelle Way SW→ 170 Street) After hearing ongoing concerns about road conditions, I pressed for repairs. It was so great that the City completed upgrades on schedule before September, 2025, improving safety and drivability.

✅ 3. Ellerslie Road Widening (Eco Station → Graydon Hill Blvd) I’ve kept this four-lane expansion on track through regular meetings with the project team. Includes a new bridge, turn bays, and 141 Street improvements. Construction begins this year, scheduled to be complete 2026.

✅ 4. Ellerslie & 103A Street T-intersection — Southbound Double Right Turn. I secured this congestion fix as developer-funded under Bylaw 21285, to reduce the traffic congestion and improve the safety. I will continue to advocate a long-term solution to further alleviate traffic congestion at this T-intersection linking to the Highway 2 overpass area by working collaboratively with the province.

✅ 5. Heritage Valley Trail (28 Ave → Paterson Link) I fought to move this north–south connector forward. Council approved Bylaws 21285, enabling developers to build the first two lanes by 2026 to improve accessibility for newer developing communities in our ward.

I’ll keep delivering well-planned, practical, cost-effective roads infrastructure projects that reduce traffic congestion, improve safety, accessibility and respect your tax dollars. Together, we’re keeping South Edmonton moving forward.
