A pond in the middle of a community road is a good indication that an infrastructure improvement is needed... we need to maintain our community roadway drainage systems in addition to filling the potholes.
While canvassing in Blue Quill, a day after a "normal" rainfall, I noticed a pond in the middle of a three-way intersection. When a garbage truck drove by, there was a big splash of water and large waves that followed. Plus, as can be seen in the photo, the wind had blown garbage into the pond.
I have heard from other neighbours that lakes sometimes form on the roads in front of their homes as well. This is one of the reasons why I have a specific focus in my platform to concentrate on our core municipal responsibilities, which include roadway and sidewalk maintenance.
