A City wide cul-de-sac clean up commenced on Feb 18, 2025 and is on schedule to be completed by the end of March for more than 3,000 cul-de-sacs in Edmonton.

Cul-de-sacs are part of a separate snow clearing operation that happens after residential blading. Cul-de-sac clearing will be done on all cul-de-sacs across the city and will involve both plowing and removing the snow. Cul-de-sac clearing is a multi-phase operation. Initial clearing of each cul-de-sac will take about one hour to clear and pile the snow in a central location. Crews with different equipment return five to seven days later to remove the piled snow.

To allow crews to efficiently clear cul-de-sacs, Edmontonians are encouraged to park their vehicles in driveways or garages. For cul-de-sacs where parked vehicles create safety and clearing issues, crews will place “no parking” signs and return the following day for clearing.
