Twin Brooks Playground Redevelopment

I am delighted to share the exciting news that the construction of the Twin Brooks playground is set to begin at the end of July! The project remains scheduled for completion in the fall of 2023.

The Twin Brooks Playground Redevelopment is our city’s Neighbourhood Park Development Program project, which both the City and the community have contributed funds to the project. The community has fundraised and received grants to contribute to their portion of the funding. Kudos to the Twin Brook Community League @twinbrookscl @twinbrooksyeg and all volunteers who have been doing an amazing job to work with the city and make this redevelopment a reality. The City will be managing all aspects of construction and retain ownership of the assets which includes the maintenance and operation.

The playground equipment was ordered in May 2023 from the manufacturer and takes 8-10 weeks to get delivered. It is expected to be delivered to the project site by the end of July, and installation will proceed once the old equipment is removed and drainage issues rectified.

From the beginning, I have given my full support to this redevelopment and wrote a Letter of Support for the Twin Brooks Community League. Additionally, I support the city’s playground program and voted in favour of the program review to ensure the improved quality for our children during the renewal of aging playgrounds.
