Supporting Our Police Force

Over the holiday break, I was honoured to be given the opportunity to record a video message of support to the men and women in our law enforcement community. The very difficult and important work the Edmonton Police Service is doing to keep our city safe is key to both Edmonton’s economic viability and the social commitments to our communities.
Dealing with current issues such as mental health, Covid and increasing street drug abuse are putting a strain on frontline workers. It is critical that they hear that they have support from Edmontonians and members of Council and I share the amount of support I heard while door knocking. In these challenging times, law enforcement is being asked to perform at maximum capacity and they need to know they have a voice in council helping to ensure they have the resources they need.
