Single-use Items Bylaw

During the Summer visits in our ward, some residents still complaint to me about the bag fees in comercial place such resturants and/or shopping place. I understnad that as of July 1, 2024, paper bags will cost at least 25 cents and reusable bags will cost at least $2.

I want to you know that I voted against the Single-use Items Bylaw and understand your concerns. To support our busines and customers, please note that customers can avoid these fees by bringing their own bags and refusing a bag, or visiting the Reuse Center and pick up a free bag https://www.edmonton.ca/programs_services/garbage_waste/reuse-centre
