Major Capital Project Review by City Council

Tomorrow Feb 23, our City Council will have a "Major Capital Project Review" discussion. I've heard over and over that our Edmontonians are concerned about the city's major capital projects being over budget and not completed on schedule, and Edmontonians want to see improvements. I was told by many Edmontonians that the city's project management practices and contract management practices need to improve to ensure the capital project is on Budget, Schedule, and Scope.

In tomorrow's discussion, we expect to hear lots of information from the city's Integrated Infrastructure Department (IIS) to provide the findings highlighting the City's adherence to comprehensive capital project planning, risk assessment, and procurement transparency.

Since the Capital Line LRT South Extension Project runs through our ward, this discussion also will help us understand how this project will be delivered and managed. As this project moves forward, I will continue to provide updates to the residents in our ward.
