Mabuhay Park Naming

The grand opening of Mabuhay Park at 2608 14 Avenue NW is taking place on October 1. The full credits are given to all the volunteers who put in the request and did all the great work, thank you!

Throughout the naming process, I provided my support towards the selected name and am pleased that the Mabuhay Park Technical Working Group was successful in their request. Mabuhay, which means welcome, is precisely what the community constitutes and will ensure that everyone is embraced at the park. This name will become synonymous with the values we cherish as a community - compassion, dedication, respect, and acceptance. At the same time, the proposed name honours the Filipino community which has had a lasting impact in Edmonton.

This park will be a cherished asset to the community and is not only expected to be a gathering place for Filipino families to celebrate their heritage and traditions but also a place for everyone to feel welcome.
