LRT Ellerslie Street Cross: Opinion

I do not support the LRT street cross on the Ellerslie Road for the Capital Line LRT South Extension project phase 2. In May 2023, I tabled a motion and received approval from Council to study Ellerslie Road Grade Separation Feasibility. October 22, tomorrow Council will discuss the study summary from the LRT project team.

A feasibility study was done now and provided two options: the Ellerslie Road overpass with estimated cost $64 million, and underpass estimated cost is $99 million.

At this time, there is no funding would be required until the future construction of the project phase 2 is approved. As you know, Ellerslie Road is one of the busiest major road in Southern Edmonton, I will continue to stand up for our ward residents and fight against the street cross on Ellerslie Road.
