Information on the City's Deficit

In the last 15 years, the city has had a deficit three times - 2008, 2011, and now in 2023.

It is concerning that the city may need to choose either to dip into its Financial Stabilization Reserve (FSR) or put upward pressure on tax rates to offset this $73.8 million deficit. As your Councillor, I believe our city needs to manage its spending by prioritizing and focusing on the city's core services in order to resolve any year-end deficits.
