Free Bus Rides for Kids Under 12

During today’s City Council Executive Committee meeting, a motion was passed to allow young children under the age of 12 to ride Edmonton Public Transit without requiring an accompanying adult. I voted against part 1 of this motion because safety implications for our young children were not addressed in the motion. I voted in favour of part 2 of the motion to provide bus services for youth to access recreation centres. See more details including my speech at 2:46:03 in the meeting record:
