EPCOR Power Outage

Last night a number of neighbourhoods in our Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi experienced a loss of power. My office received lots of messages from our residents who expressed their concerns about this power outage in the middle of the winter. With contacting the EPCOR, I know this impacted about 45,000 our neighbors in the south and southwest Edmonton.
EPCOR #epcor crews were immediately dispatched to assess the situation and worked safely to restore power as quickly as possible. Power was fully restored to the area by 4am today.
I know EPCOR”s focus last night - and always – is to restore power and then the teams will look into the nature of the outage. I want to thank you for your patience and support of EPCOR crews as they worked through the night.
SAFETY MESSAGES: EPCOR has information on their website about things we can do and the process they go through to restore power:
● Having an emergency kit in our homes is important. It should include flashlights with fresh batteries, candles, and blankets.
● Store your power outage emergency kit somewhere that's easy to find. Remember, you might have to find it in the dark.
