Hello Ward Ipiihkoohkanipaiohtsi residents, you may already know the security incident that happened on Tuesday in our City Hall.
First of all, my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the quick action of city hall security, EPS, and other first responders that kept everyone safe.
I also want to thank all the messages and calls from my friends and constituents to me, your caring for me and our city warms my heart. During the past few days, there have been many moments when my tears fly. But I strongly believe that our city will recover from this as we are working together to build this place we call home for all Edmontonians.
I want to share some updates:
- the arrangements are in place to support our City Hall staff in a variety of ways as needed.
- the City Hall building and the parkade are closed to public access until further notice
- a security review is underway, and additional security measures may need, but we continue to believe City Hall and municipal
government are open to the community we all serve
- the City will support the police investigation as it unfolds.
- Edmontonians and counterparts across the country reached out to convey their support.
This incident was shocking, take care and stay safe everyone...
