Good afternoon Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi,
As your councillor, I would like to share some information regarding the proposed Cavanagh apartment development.
The proposed apartment site was approved on September 5, 2018 which changed the zoning to RA7 for Low Rise Apartment Zone before I was elected as your councillor. Today, a development permit request has not yet been received for this site and it is currently unknown what the owner/developer’s timelines are for this specific property and the details on what the future development entails.
The Cavanagh Neighborhood structure plan can be found at https://pub-edmonton.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=11463 for your information. This plan was approved on September 5, 2018.
Even though this was approved prior to my election as a Councillor, I am more than happy to continue to take actions to support my constituents. I will continue to work with area residents, the city, and the developer to keep you updated.
