National Tree Day in Cavanagh

It was fantastic to see the smiles on everyone’s faces!

On September 20, I was so happy with Mayor Sohi, Councillor Wright, to join over 200 volunteers to help plant 1,000 trees and shrubs in the community of Cavanagh, which is located in our ward. These are going to provide a breathtaking wooded area for future generations and help increase Edmonton’s urban canopy.

Thanks to Trees Canada @treescanada , Root for Trees program edmonton.ca/rootfortrees from the city of Edmonton, your dedicated efforts for initiating such wonderful actions to improve our city’s green spaces.

Thank you to those who came out to the event including staff from Staples, the Brick, the MAC Islamic school, and even a tourist from the Netherlands!
