Tonight, I had the pleasure of joining the Edmonton Screen Industry Office (ESIO)’s building resiliency event. ESIO promotes Edmonton as a destination for movie productions, computer game development, and more. As a recent success story, ESIO played a key role in welcoming HBO to film a television production in Edmonton. It was great speaking with ESIO CEO Tom Viinikka, film producers Eva Colmers and Bonnie Thompson, as well as brothers Edmon Rotea, Albert Rotea (who told me I could call them Edmonton, Alberta), and other wonderful guests.
As a strong voice for economic development for our city, I look forward to ESIO’s continued success in attracting movie productions and tech talent to our city.
