Hello Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi! We’ve certainly been having some warm weather lately.
I’ve been taking advantage of these nice evenings and weekends continuing to visit neighbourhoods in our ward. It is wonderful meeting so many people and hearing your thoughtful feedback regarding our city’s services including on various topics that I will need to vote on as your representative on Council.
During my visits, I heard some common issues across our ward’s more mature neighbourhoods including Sweetgrass, Steinhauer, Skyrattler, Ermineskin, Blue Quill, Blue Quill Estates, Keheewin and Bearspaw. These issues include sidewalks in need of repair or replacement, the need for safety be it on public transit or on our roads, too much speeding on streets inside of neighbourhoods, the need to support houseless individuals inside our neighbourhoods and around our city, unmaintained properties that may be in need of bylaw enforcement, weed control on city-owned property, and not repeating last winter’s windrows, to name a few. I am bringing what I heard back to the city operations teams and to City Council to address these issues.
In addition, I’m thankful to have heard many kind words and positive feedback from many of you; these kind words motivate me further to continue working hard to support our ward and our city.
