Celebrating Chinatown

Chinatown is an integral part of Edmonton and has been hurting for years with increasingly facing excessive crime and danger. On May 18, 2022, we lost two of our community members on the same day, that's heartbroken for the families and our community.
As the counccillor with Chinese heritage, I want to say: Edmonton Chinese Community, my heart breaks with you. I have heard you, I see the pain you are in, I stand with you and listen to you.
Chinatown is also a place where there is great love, great culture, and a real sense of community. We need long-term efforts to increase public safety in this area of our city. Public safety & the ability to enjoy community spaces is something that all Edmontonians deserve. I will continue to work hard for you and do my part, to the best of my ability.
