Canadian citizenship ceremony!

Today is a special day, which is both meaningful and heartwarming. On behalf of City Council, it was my privilege to participate in a Canadian citizenship ceremony presented by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada at the Art Gallery of Alberta @artgalleryofalberta to celebrate our newest Canadian Citizens who have chosen Edmonton as their home.

As someone who has experienced the journey of immigration and becoming a citizen myself, I understand the sense of accomplishment and belonging that comes with this milestone. Congratulations to Edmonton’s newest Canadian citizens; I wish you a very bright and successful future!

Also, thank you to the musical trio @themelisizwebros The Melisizwe Brothers who performed some wonderful musical pieces including our national anthem.
